Biological Activity
Endogenous agonist at histamine receptors (H1-4). Released from mast cells and basophils and exhibits inflammatory, vasodilatory and bronchoconstrictory activity. Stimulates gastric acid secretion and acts as a neurotransmitter in vivo.
